TATHAM PARISH COUNCIL PARISH ASSEMBLY/MEETING 2007 Held in the Old School, Tatham Fells on Tuesday May 15 at 7.30pm.
The Parish Assembly and all Parish Council meetings are advertised in the local newsletter and on 5 posters. Parish Cllrs, District Cllrs, County Cllr and the local Police Constable are sent agendas of all meetings. Present County Councillor Susie Charles, District Councillors Joyce Pritchard and Stuart Langhorn, Parish Councillors Sue Dawson, Melanie Winstanley, Ruby Murray, Michael Mason, Andrew Taylor & Bill Deller, the Clerk Mary Taylor & 3 members of the public James Harrison & Eric & Margaret Baker. 1. Minutes - of the Parish Assembly May 16, 2006 were read, and signed as a true and correct record, proposed by Cllr Mason seconded by Cllr Murray. 2. Receive the Annual Report of the Parish Council and statement of the Parish Council’s accounts for the year ended 31 March 2007. These have been circulated & put on the notice board; Cllr Deller moved that these be received as a true record, seconded by Cllr Dawson. 3. Receive reports from representatives of voluntary organisations – Good Shepherd Church – Concerts have been held: The Church is well attended. St James the Less Church – The churchyard is kept in immaculate condition. Lowgill Sports & Sheepdog Trials – This is to be on June 9, Sports to start at 3.30pm, there is to be Cumberland & Westmorland Wrestling. Friends of Tatham Fells School – The nursery is now part of the school taking children from the age of 3; there are 31 in the main school and 8 in the nursery. Women’s Institute – There are now 35 members. Village Society – Enjoyable meetings and fundraising events have been held throughout the year. The Old School – The new kitchen is a great success, the wall still needs to be finished. Disabled access is by the rear door to the building, and access by a ramp to the disabled toilet. The committee meet once a year. 4. Consider matters brought up by members of the public. A large tree has fallen across Croasdale Beck near the footbridge between the Old School and the village, steps down to this bridge are also in a poor way. Cllr Winstanley is to contact the Tree Warden and Cllr Charles is to contact the County Council. 5. Next Meeting – May 20, 2008 The meeting closed at 7.45pm. |
