TATHAM PARISH COUNCIL ASSEMBLY/MEETING 2011 Held in the Old School, Tatham Fells on Tuesday 17 May at 7.30pm. The Parish Assembly and all Parish Council meetings are advertised in the local newsletter and on 5 posters. Parish Cllrs, District Cllrs, County Cllr and the local Police Constable are sent agendas of all meetings. Present - Parish Councillors Bill Deller, Jim Harrison, Melanie Winstanley, Sue Dawson, Andrew Taylor and Bronwen Osborne, the clerk Mary Taylor and three members of the public, Martin Gillibrand, Richard Wilson and Margaret Baker. 1. Minutes: – of the Parish Assembly meeting of 18 May 2010 were signed as a true and correct record, proposed by Cllr Harrison, seconded by Cllr Winstanley. 2. Receive the Annual Report of the Parish Council and statement of the Parish Council’s accounts for the year ended 31 March 2011: These have been circulated and put on the notice board; the report was accepted proposed by Richard Wilson and seconded by Margaret Baker. 3. Report by Martin Gillibrand on Tatham Relief in Need Charity: Mr. Gillibrand has served as the Parish Council Nominative trustee since the Charity was set up 31 October 1984; the Nominative Trustee needs to be re appointed every 4 years. Mr. Gillibrand has co opted Linda Kirkby and Norman Dawson to serve as trustees for five years and three years. Mr. Gillibrand now ceases to be the Parish Council Nominative Trustee; the Parish Council agreed unanimously to Nominate Councillor Bill Deller to serve for four years. The Charity has over £9,000 and around £300 per year is available to help a Parishioner in need. 3. Receive reports from representatives of voluntary organizations: Good Shepherd Church –A new Altar Frontal, pulpit and alter falls and a beautiful Altar Super Frontal, designed by David Hartnup and embroidered by 12 local ladies under the guidance of Frances Hartnup was dedicated on 8 May by Revd Bob Jackson. St. James the Less Church – This is now open all day, they have held concerts and other events. Lowgill Sports and Sheepdog Trials – these are to be held this year on 11 June. Friends of Tatham Fells School – They are celebrating 50th Anniversary the new building. Women’s Institute – There are now 33 members, trips and walks are arranged as well as regular meetings. Village Society – Meetings and events are very popular with most of the money raised being given to the Old School. Old School – The building is well used and the committee is very grateful for donations from the Parish Council and Village Society. Tatham History Society – Successful meetings and walks have been held, with others planned. 4. Consider matters brought up by members of the public: A litter pick, Tatham Trash Week is to be organized for March. School children are to reminded about litter. 5. Next Meeting – 15 May 2012. The meeting closed at 8.20pm. |
