TATHAM PARISH COUNCIL, MAY MEETING 2007

Held in the Old School, Tatham Fells on Tuesday May 15

 

Present: County Councillor Susie Charles, District Councillors Joyce Pritchard & Stuart Langhorn, Parish Councillors Melanie Winstanley Ruby Murray, Michael Mason, Andrew Taylor & Bill Deller, the Clerk Mary Taylor & 3 members of the public, James Harrison, & Eric & Margaret Baker.

The meeting opened at 8.pm following the Annual meeting.

Co-option of Parish Councillor: Cllr Deller proposed & Cllr Mason seconded that James Harrison be co-opted onto Tatham Parish Council, all were in favour.

1. Apologies: None.

2. Minutes: of 20/03/07 have been circulated; they were signed as a true and correct record, proposed Cllr Deller by seconded by CllrDawson.

3. Police and Community Together:

4. Finance: The chairman signed Receipts & Payments book and bank statements.

(a) Bank Statements – Current March 31, £3595.86

(b) Received – March 21 Community Futures Parish Plan Grant £2000

– April 23 , City Council Precept £3200

(c) Cllr Deller proposed & Cllr Murray seconded that we pay the following; all were agreed at the January meeting, each accompanied by the latest balance sheet –

Cheque No. 285 LAPTC subscription (electorate 354) £83.49

Cheque No. 286 Tatham Fells Old School hire of room £48.00

Cheque No. 287 Tatham Fells Old School £380.00

Cheque No. 290 Friends of Tatham Fells School £180.00

5. Plans: Acknowledgements:

New – 07/00418/CU – change of use of land to site temporary log clad mobile home at Southmire Barn for Mr A D Holland.

There were no objections but it was agreed that the mobile home should only be sited there for at most 2 years while the barn is being converted, and then removed.

6. Highways: Reply from Mr Robson: Reply from Andrew Metcalf re street cleaning: Reply from Bentham Town Council and from Skipton Highways.

The Lengthsman has repaired the seat on Trinket Lane. He is in contact with John Holt re blocked grates on Monks Gate and Park Lane. The HGV restriction sign at Park Lane has still not been erected. A hole in the road at the entrance to Monks Gate is to be reported, also road worn away by large Lorries carrying wood at the junction of Lythe Lane with Lords Close Road near Bank End cattle grid.

Information of road closures is on the notice board, the A683 is to be closed at Claughton Brick works on June 16 for the overhead workings to be dismantled.

7. City Council: (a) cycling courses (b) list of tree wardens (c) draft parking strategy questionnaire (d) Local Development Framework Plan Core Strategy (e) Mayors Sunday has been postponed from May 20 as the local Football Team is playing at Wembley

8. County Council: (a) Lancaster Partnership grants (b) information re Parish Portal (c) Bus Shelter report.

9. LAPTC: Lancaster-

County – March newsletter; conference postponed until Oct19 – 21; courses for new Cllrs; planning system report & Post Office information.

National – Magazines; Legal briefings & information.

10. Community Futures: The £2000 grant has been received, there is to be a meeting of the steering group to report to the next meeting.

11. Correspondence: (a) Habitat Herald re rivers and fishing (b) Lancashire combined Fire Authority Internal Risk Management Plan 07/08 (c) Playing Field News (d) Disability workshop on June 8 (e) charity Signposts 50 forward requires volunteers, a notice is to be put on the notice board.

12. Next meeting – July 17th at 7.30pm in St James the Less Church, Lower Tatham.

The meeting closed at 8.45 pm.
