Since the last Annual Meeting Councillors have welcomed Police Constable Ian Johnson. The Council have met six times and Cllrs and the clerk have attended other meetings and events. They have fought hard on three fronts, the Telephone Box in Lowgill is to remain in use; but have lost the fight, to keep a bus service via Mill Houses and Lowgill road end so the intelligent bus stop has been abandoned; efforts to save the Signal Box at Wennington have partly paid off as the box is to be reused on another line. They have commented on planning applications including proposals for the new waste water treatment plant at Lowgill and have commented on loud music being played outside until early morning. They have achieved road improvements by contact with the County Council and work by the Lengthsman; he has also worked on footpaths and roadside railings. City Cllrs and the LAPTC have given help and advice. The clerk has attended the Military Heritage day and the Mayors reception.
