Tatham Parish Council

Present Parish Councillors Bill Deller, Jim Harrison, Melanie Winstanley, Andrew Taylor, Sue Dawson and Bronwen Osborne, the Clerk Mary Taylor and two members of the public Richard Wilson and Margaret Baker.

The meeting opened at 8.20pm, following the Parish Assembly.

Report on Election: District Cllrs returned for the Lower Lune Valley were Joan Jackson (con) and Jane Parkinson (con); Jane Parkinson contacted us. Stuart Langhorn and Joyce Prichard contacted us to thank us for our support.

There was no Parish Council election as only six stood for the seven places.

1. Apologies: Police Constable Carl Wood.

2. Minutes: Of the Annual Meeting 18 May, 2010 were read and signed as a true and correct record, proposed by Cllr Dawson, seconded by Cllr Taylor.

3. Election of Chairman: Cllr Deller thanked everyone for their support and stepped down from the chair, he nominated Cllr Harrison, seconded by Cllr Dawson, all were in favour, there were no other nominations. Cllr Harrison filled in the Declaration form as chairman.

4. Election of vice chairman: Cllr Deller nominated Cllr Osborne, seconded by Cllr Taylor, all were in favour, and there were no other nominations.

5. Appointment of representative to the LALC: Cllr Taylor was re appointed representative although any Cllr can attend meetings.

6. Appointment of Responsible Financial Officer: This has to be the Clerk.

7. Appointment of councillor with special responsibility for finance: Cllr Harrison was appointed proposed by Cllr Dawson, seconded by Cllr Deller.

8. Appointment of Internal Auditor: Cllr Deller nominated Mrs D E Corlett BSc. FCCA, seconded by Cllr Dawson, all were in favour. (Cllr Taylor declared an interest)

9. Co option of new Parish Councillor: If no one has come forward before 15 June an advert is to be put in the local news letter.

10. Next Meeting: 15 May 2012.
