TATHAM PARISH COUNCIL ASSEMBLY/MEETING 2009

Held in the Old School, Tatham Fells on Tuesday 19 May at 7.30pm.

The Parish Assembly and all Parish Council meetings are advertised in the local newsletter and on 5 posters. Parish Cllrs, District Cllrs, Counry Cllr and the local Police Constable are sent agendas of all meetings.

Present - Parish Councillors Melanie Winstanley, Sue Dawson, Andrew Taylor, Michael Mason, Jim Harrison and Bill Deller, the clerk Mary Taylor and one member of the public, Richard Wilson.

1. Minutes: – of the Parish Assembly meeting of 20 May 2008 were signed as a true and correct record, proposed by Cllr Deller, seconded by Cllr Harrison.

2. Receive the Annual Report of the Parish Council and statement of the Parish Council’s accounts for the year ended 31 March 2009: These have been circulated and put on the notice board; the report was accepted proposed by Richard Wilson and seconded by Cllr Mason.

3. Receive reports from representatives of voluntary organizations:

Good Shepherd Church – The church yard is kept in good condition and new lights have been installed between the Church and the Old School.

St. James the Less Church – The Parish Council have held one meeting there in the past year free of charge, they have held concerts and kept the church yard in good condition.

Lowgill Sports and Sheepdog Trials – the sports will be held this year on 13 June in Lowgill but the sheepdog trials will have to be held on Summersgill land because of sheep movement restrictions.

Friends of Tatham Fells School – They have had several money raising events which have paid for theatre and museum trips and extra school equipment.

Women’s Institute – There are now 41 members, trips and walks are arranged as well as regular meetings.

Village Society – Meetings and events are very popular with most of the money raised being given to the Old School.

Old School – The building is well used and the committee very grateful for donations from the Parish Council and Village Society.

4. Consider matters brought up by members of the public: The area round the war memorial is kept in good order by Mr. McDonald; he is to be sent a letter of thanks. The planning appeal for Ivah Great Hill was discussed, this is still on going.
