TATHAM PARISH COUNCIL ASSEMBLY/MEETING 2010 Held in the Old School, Tatham Fells on Tuesday 18 May at 7.30pm. The Parish Assembly and all Parish Council meetings are advertised in the local newsletter and on 5 posters. Parish Cllrs, District Cllrs, County Cllr and the local Police Constable are sent agendas of all meetings. Present - District Councilor Joyce Pritchard, Parish Councilors Bill Deller, Jim Harrison, Melanie Winstanley, Sue Dawson, Andrew Taylor, Michael Mason, and Ruby Murray, the clerk Mary Taylor and five member of the public, Martin Gillibrand, Richard Wilson, Eric and Margaret Baker and Carole Butcher. 1. Minutes: – of the Parish Assembly meeting of 19 May 2009 were signed as a true and correct record, proposed by Cllr Dawson, seconded by Cllr Winstanley. 2. Receive the Annual Report of the Parish Council and statement of the Parish Council’s accounts for the year ended 31 March 2010: These have been circulated and put on the notice board; the report was accepted proposed by Cllr Dawson and seconded by Cllr Mason. 3. Receive reports from representatives of voluntary organizations: Good Shepherd Church – The Tower has been re pointed. Revd Mark Cannon has been licensed as the self supporting ministry priest of the East Lonsdale Benefice; the six churches, Tatham Fells, Tatham, Wray, Melling, Tunstall and Leck, he will live in Wray. St. James the Less Church –They have had a new wrought iron hand rail and gate, made for the steps down to the boiler room and have had concerts to raise money towards repair of the church roof and a new notice board. The Parish Council has held one meeting there in the past year free of charge. Lowgill Sports and Sheepdog Trials – the sports will be held this year on 12 June in Lowgill but the sheepdog trials will have to be held on Summersgill land because of sheep movement restrictions. Friends of Tatham Fells School – They have had several money raising events for the Outdoor Play Scheme. Women’s Institute – There are now 37 members, trips and walks are arranged as well as regular meetings. Village Society – Meetings and events are very popular with most of the money raised being given to the Old School. Old School – The building is well used and the committee is very grateful for donations from the Parish Council and Village Society. Part of the floor in the kitchen has had to be replaced because of rot. Tatham History Society – Successful meetings and walks have been held, with others planned, there are now 118 members. Tatham Relief in Need Charity – Mr. Martin Gillibrand reported on the Charity and answered questions. He will send a written report to the Parish Council 4. Consider matters brought up by members of the public: Richard Wilson volunteered to organize a litter pick; Cllr Harrison said he would organize Lower Tatham. 5. Next Meeting – 17 May 2011. The meeting closed at 8.25pm. All members of the public except Mr. Wilson then left the meeting. |
