St James the Less Church, a place of worship since before 1290 and the Bridge Inn form part of the northern settlement near the river Wenning at 40 metres (150ft) above sea level.

Mill Houses

Along the Hindburn valley Millhouses, the site of an ancient water mill is the next group of dwellings.

Lowgill

Lowgill on the Ribchester to Burrow Roman Road has 15 houses; this is the largest settlement in Tatham with the Good Shepherd Church, Lowgill Wesleyan Chapel and Tatham Fells Primary School.  Here is a polished granite war memorial on a tiny village green.
