TATHAM PARISH COUNCIL, MAY MEETING 2010

Held in the Old School, Tatham Fells on Tuesday 18 May

 

Present: District Councillor Joyce Prichard, Parish Councillors Bill Deller, Jim Harrison, Melanie Winstanley, Andrew Taylor, Sue Dawson, Michael Mason and Ruby Murray, the Clerk Mary Taylor and one member of the public, Richard Wilson.

The meeting opened at 8.30pm following the Annual meeting.

1. Apologies: District Cllr Stuart Langhorn.

2. Minutes: of 16/03/10 have been circulated; they were signed as a true and correct record, proposed by Cllr Mason, seconded by Cllr Winstanley.

3. Police and Community Together: Cllr Taylor reported that fly tipping on Lythe Fell had been reported to the Police, this is thought to be from a cannabis factory at Cleveleys.

4. Lengthsman: Cllr Harrison has placed posters round the Parish requesting parishioners to contact him with work for the Lengthsman.

5. Insurance: Mr Taylor from Fraser’s Monumental Sculptors (who have provided several tombstones in the churchyard) has valued the War Memorial at £25,000. He has done this free of charge.

A new notice board would cost about £700.

With our present Insurance Company insurance would be £394.33, with the War Memorial and notice board added it would be £848.42.

With Came & Company insurance would be £335.18, with the War Memorial and notice board it would be £451.22.

Cllr Mason proposed and Cllr Taylor seconded that we do not insure the War Memorial and notice board. This was taken to the vote; five were in favour of not insuring the War Memorial and notice board.

Cllr Murray proposed and Cllr Dawson seconded that we change our Insurance company to Came & Company, all were in favour.

6. Finance:

The chairman signed Receipts & Payments book and bank statements.

(a) Bank Statements – Current 31 March £868.36

Deposit, Interest 21 Jan – 23 April £0.10 £781.30

(b) Received – City Council; Precept 13 May £4,250.00

(c) Cllr Murray proposed & Cllr Dawson seconded that we pay the following -

Cheque No. 331 Broker Network Ltd. (insurance Came & Company) £335.18

Cheque No. 332 LALC sub. (electorate 377) £86.46

Cheque No. 333 Tatham Fells Old School, hire of room 2 yrs £90.00

Cheque No. 334 Tatham Fells Old School (towards insurance) £400.00

Sec 137 Grants, all applications (with balance sheets) were approved in January -

Cheque No. 335 St James the Less Church £240.00

Cheque No. 336 The Good Shepherd Church £240.00

Cheque No. 337 Friends of Tatham Fells School £200.00

Cheque No. 338 North West Air Ambulance £100.00

Cheque No. 339 Wray Village Institute (Wrayly Mail) £50.00

(d) AUDIT FORM – This was checked, approved and signed.

7. Plans:

10/00314/AD – Agricultural Determination – erection of a silo storage clamp for Mr & Mrs Lawson, Oak Bank, Mewith Lane, Tatham.

10/00322/AD – erection of an agricultural building for Mr B Faraday, Moor Cock Farm, Slaidburn road.

10/00432/LB – listed building consent for the removal of a garden wall for Mr R Bradley, The Green, Mewith Lane.

There were no objections.

8. City Council: Cllr Pritchard reported that Cllr Langhorn has bee re elected leader of the Council. A request is to be made for bin bags, litter picking sticks and fluorescent clothing or markings for volunteer litter pickers – this will probably be next March.

9. County Council:

Highways: Highways Bulletin (nothing in Tatham). Reply to our letter.

They are to be informed of pot holes in the road between Ivah and Craggs road. A request is to be made for a sign on High Road at the junction with the road to the church "No vans or HGVS, ignore SAT NAVs." A request is to be made for the ends of the railway bridge at Monks Gate to be angled out the next time they are repaired. The fence on Old Moor Road above Wennington Station is in a dangerous state.

10. LALC:

Lancaster: minutes & agendas

County – visit to Lancaster Castle: Autumn Conference.

National – Magazines.

11. Parish Plan: There is good information on the Web Site from Tatham History Society. Two visits are planned for this summer.

12. Correspondence: SELRAP: Habitat Herald: War Memorial information.

13. Next meeting –29 June at 7.30pmat St James the Less Church, Tatham.

The meeting closed at 9pm.
